We are looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join our team as a Barista. This position combines the art of crafting high-quality coffee and espresso drinks with preparing fresh food items to enhance the customer experience. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, food, and providing excellent service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Barista Duties:
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and specialty beverages.
• Operate and maintain coffee equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers.
• Take customer orders, recommend drinks and food items, and ensure prompt and accurate service.
• Maintain cleanliness of the barista station, including countertops, machines, and storage areas.
• Restock supplies such as coffee beans, syrups, milk, cups, and lids as needed.
• Ensure drinks are made to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
• Handle cash and process payments accurately through the POS system.
• Provide friendly, efficient, and personalized customer service.
Food Preparation Duties:
• Prepare and assemble food items (e.g., pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast items) according to menu specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including food prep surfaces, cooking utensils, and equipment.
• Ensure food items are fresh, properly stored, and ready for service.
• Monitor food inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
• Follow all food safety and health regulations to ensure the safety of food products.
• Assist in menu planning and preparation of seasonal or special items.
• Package food orders for takeout or delivery in a timely and efficient manner.
General Duties:
• Work closely with team members to ensure efficient service and a smooth operation.
• Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and find solutions.
• Support cleaning and sanitation procedures across the café, including tables, floors, and restrooms.
• Assist in opening and closing duties, including restocking, cleaning, and setting up for the next shift.
• Ensure a clean, welcoming, and organized café environment for both customers and staff.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a barista or food preparation role is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment, as well as basic food safety standards.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when preparing drinks and food.
• Ability to work in a team and take direction when needed.
• Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate coffee equipment, kitchen appliances, and POS systems.
• Strong organizational skills and a high level of cleanliness.
• Positive attitude and a passion for providing great customer experiences.
